When the “Saffron Revolution” broke out in Myanmar in 2007, protests led by thousands of Buddhist monks and civilians were violently suppressed by the military government. The year after, filmmaker Tin Win Naing, having filmed political footage, was forced to leave his country and took refuge illegally in a small Thai town on the border. During his exile, he and his camera followed three Myanmar migrant workers who, despite living under the most inhumane circumstances, have emerged as hopeful survivors and fighters against despair.
